Finally got the Lund out after a few months of Salmon fishing, farm work and house remodeling (thanks dear!). It didn't take long for a bad starter batery to wreak havoc with our day after a short anchor. (It's not good when your graph goes blank.) After a jump,...it was kicker motor time for the rest of the day. While we saw fish caught on jigs and rapala 3 ways,...we did the better on a blade baits vertically jigged. Normally I don't like using them because alot of fish get snagged. Nearly all of ours were mouth hooked but we kept them off the bottom.
Monday was a new day with a new battery. After some real specific info from a fellow IDO member at Evert's landing we were off to try the blade baits once again. However, after an hour it was apparent that the fish weren't nearly as aggresive. We went to minnows on 3 ways and blew through 2 scoops of minows on eater saugers in 2 hours in the afternoon. Had a great day with an old friend from college days.
On Wednesday I had to work but my friend couldn't stay away. Again the 3 ways worked right away for him. Not as many fish but some nice saugers and walleyes up to 22".
There seems to be plenty fish in the upper part of Pool 4 right now. Keep trying differnt techniques and places until you figure them out. Sorry, no pictures,...another battery problem. Good luck everyone!
