Going to buy ice fishing coat and bibs.Looking at Ice Armour blue suit.Mostly fish IA.,Il and southern Wi.,lot of day's are mid teens to thirty.Some of the heavier suits might be too much.Thinking XL would give enough room for my North Face fleece jacket underneath if I go north or the few zero days we see here.Lot of days h20 proof more important than warmth.Also like the inside pockets for camera and gps.Thanks,Steve

Love my Cabelas Guidewear. UNINSULATED. I can then use it year 'round, simply layer underneath as the weather dictates.
GREAT on the ice, tough, takes up little space when packing, waterproof... 10 years old (+) and still going strong

I have experience with two suits: Snosuit and Cabelas Guidewear (insulated).
The Snosuit is the warmest you will encounter. My father-in-law bought a set two years ago, as open-water fishing in January and February was pretty tough on him (he's pretty cold blooded). He loved it so much that after losing 65 lbs, he's ordering a new Snosuit in a smaller size. There are lots of dedicated ice anglers who won't set out for the day without their Snosuit. For them, it's as important as their flasher.
I am on my 4th or 5th season of using my insulated Guidewear. I start wearing it in mid-October and it carries me straight through until early April....and sometimes later if we have a cold spring. For me, guidewear works great, especially for all of my Pool 4 winter trips. But, if I found myself on the ice in consistently cold weather, I'd be sporting a Snosuit.

I have the artic armor suit.It floats you if you fall through the ice.Its waterproof and very very warm.Very lightweight.

I'm old fashion. I find the most durable gear you can get is Carhartt. I know it's not as eye appealing, but I tell you I've had my coat and bibs since 8th grade, I'm know 26, and the things are still in great shape.

For the areas you fish the blue suit will be more then enough.

I use sorrel bibs{like carhartt}now,about an hour in the truck thaws them from the knees down enough to take them off!We fish a lot of days with water on the ice,then by dark it's freezing.What i've read the snow suit is top line but are the a little warm on a 25 degree day?Cabela's parka I tried on had tight cuffs I could hardly get my hands out.I've got pretty big ''mitts''.Thanks for all the input Steve

How does the sno-suit hold up to auger splash? I struggle with my carhart's after cutting a few holes, they are frozen solid. I know I can put my feet wider, but after cutting two or three tanks worth of gas looking for the big ones its inevitable.

Got the black Carhart Artic Extremes here. Bought the bibbs one spring on sale then the next year got the hooded coat on sale. Served me well and kept me warm so far. Think the Sno Suit would be the cadillac though but I'm to cheap I guess.

I've used Ice Armor, StrikeMaster, and Snosuit. This is what I've come up with. If you are going to be sitting outside in the wind and single digits or worse, the only thing I can say is Snosuit 100%! I know you all have heard it a million times, but the Snosuit blew me away.
The Ice Armor products in my eyes are very cheap and I wouldn't recommend anyone to buy them.
The StrikeMaster suit is very well built and I use it when its in the teens or warmer, but it will keep you warm when it's much much colder. The suit has great pockets and is very warm.
Nic H, you asked about auger splash. This is no joke. I challange you to try and get your pant cuffs wet wearing the SnoSuit bibs. The Snosut bibs have an elastic cuff on the bottom on the inside. The suit is very water proof and you can truly kneel down in water without getting even damp. The bibs are not cheap but you get what you pay for and you'll get the best bibs every made.
I fished with a large group last winter and the guys had about every type of bib made. I was the only one the had no ice build up on my bibs and a DRY pair of jeans underneath Take the Snosuit challange. I have nothing to gain by telling you this and I never recommend any product that I didn't think is the best!

I live in SE Nebraska and have 2 Snosuits. Love them!!! If fact I just wore mine on Monday night while out trolling the full moon. I stayed toasty warm and my cousin couldn't wait to get to the truck to turn the heated seats on. Guess I should have brought the spare Snosuit along. 
When ice fishing in my area I'll leave the coat off on the nicer days, but it sure is nice to get that coat on if the wind comes up or when the sun goes down.
Also, I was just in Scheels yesterday and walked pass the ice fishing isle and seen that they now carry the Snosuit. They had the new redesigned suit for this year and they look nice. They made a few changes on both the bibs and coat.
