Going on wednesday to the river. We have done pretty good this year on pepin, (3)6 pounders and (1) 8 pounder 3 weeks ago. I know alot of fish migrate to the dam area at this time, but is there still good action on pepin? We are still using leadcore and long-lining. We were there last week and didnt see more than 4 boats all day and did not catch 1 eye or sauger all day,but the flow was way up from the rain.
Did you try 3-waying? Not sure what speed you were pulling but slower has been better over the last couple of weeks. I'll know more after monday as I plan to hit the river before work monday.
I am just guessing but I think pitching plastics and blades is producing and I think the dragging bite is taking off as well.
