Otter II information

#832053 - 11/03/09 06:05 PM

I am trying to find some information for an Otter II and cannot seem to find anything I feel is reliable. I found one that I am interested in purchasing but I want to make sure all my ducks are in a row before I buy it and regret it. The model number on it is 2233, it does not have a sled with it and the only information I can find is that it should take the medium otter sled model number 1130.
(64"L X 32"W X 14"D)
The shelter is green and I assume it is canvas from what I have found on IDO. I have just got so frustrated trying to find any info on it, so any help you can provide will be greatly appreciated.

Call Otter direct. They're usually able to sort this type of thing out without much trouble. I wish I could offer some immediate help but I'm just not familiar with model numbers.

That would be too easy
I was planning to but I thought I would try to get some input from an owner of one.

I hear ya'. I will say this... I was waiting in the lobby last fall when an owner of an OLD otter brought in a broken frame piece looking for a replacement. It was so old the tubing was ROUND. And it has been some time since Otter used round tubing. Otter handled it by making him a new one on the spot using a tube bender and one of the unbroken frame pieces as a template. They'll have the info you're looking for without question.

All the otters I've had in the last three years have had square tubing. Nothing wrong with the round... just the square is stronger, more resistant to kinking if you do bend it and it seems to slide easier.

My first Otter Lodge I bought was the first square tubing model in 2003. How I recall...I built a garage that year, a friend and I sheetrocked it and headed straight to the lake (first ice) after our work was done. Then I burned the zipper on my brand new Otter in the first 5 minutes on the ice. We caught a mess of fish though, so there wasn't too much pain.
