#832152 - 11/04/09 06:31 AM

....for the second time this year, both times against the Packers.

After wandering in the wilderness for many years, it is our turn. I really didn't want him, I thought he was over the hill and we needed to develop a young guy (still do). I mean after all this guy is as old as my daughter! You have to hand it to him, he can still bring it.

Now about that young guy.

You know it still looks funny having #4 in purple!!! I also thought it was a bad call but so far it has been a good run.

I'm still cautiously optimistic. I'm 2+ years younger than him and still can't imagine taking the shots he does and getting up the next day. Or having the motivation to allow 20 year old 300 pounders chase me around. Good for him!! Great for the vikes right now.

However, all the negative wishing from the east should start coming out of the wood work as we enter the 2nd half of the season if he slows at all.

Wonder if he'll lead them to that 15-1, 1998 season? How'd that turn out? Oh yeah, you bet I am bitter and a sore loser.

I bet for 12 mill you would take a few shots and show up next week.

Conrats to him, he's having quite a season.

But as you say, However, if the wheels start to fall off his bandwagon there will not only be negative wishing from the "east". "Purple" fans seem to have quite a nasty streak when things don't go their way. Of course they've had a lot of experience with that.....

He deserves it, congrats!

I am beginning to form the opinion that the vast majority of the Viking fans have lost the ability to be happy in life. Just accept that fact that you have a great team and great players-and enjoy the moment! You want to worry about the future and some hot young QB--heck, we will give you Ted Thompson in a heartbeat and throw in McCarthy just as a cool bonus. We will gladly take Chili and Bevell and what they have accomplished. Mark my words, before this season is over Thompson will utter "building year-or looking to the future".

great QB, great running back, great O-line, great tight ends, great recievers, great defense.
Your 7-1 for a reason, cause you got the "W"'s---!!!!!!!

Like I said, only cure for Queen fans is to move the team to a place where they are appreciated.

Dude lol The purple have a nasty streak!?! I am pretty sure cheeseland is a little more sour when loosing compared to most..note to Ted Thompson thread
As far as the season goes..time will tell just like any other team. New Orleans could be that team this year who is untouchable an loose in the playoffs it happens oh well. Green Bay pi$$ed it down there leg a few years ago at 13-3 I believe? Right now for what was available for free agency or trade for QB positions the vikings did well(hell maybe Sage will learn something). Brett Farve is the QB they needed. Knows how to manage the game and allow AP to still do his thing and is making strong throws and taking sacks when needed. I know I will hear pick leader ect ect so spare me that crap. It is now bye week and halfway through the season and we are 7-1 with GB games out of the way and I for one believe that is about all we could ask for. He deserves the award for the weeka nd I believe Harvin would have if Brett did not. Congrats Bert see ya in a week and a half at the Dome! Skol vikings skol baby!

p.s we will take Ted when you run him out of town to you can have Chilly!

This post has me very confused. Why are the vast majority of Viking fans unhappy in life? And I don't understand the comment about moving the team to a place they are appreciated.

Great job so far this year for the Vikings and Favre.

Rodgers got robbed. It should have gone to him. He had similar numbers plus 55 yards rushing. He had to do all of his work under pressure and wondering if the next play was going to be his last courtesy of J Allen. I am not being factitious either.

I will agree Rogers did have a good game..did not complete passes when needed in the end but I said it before and say it again. Besides Brees and maybe Brady Rogers scares the hell out of me like no other which is why I am happy we have both Pack games out of the way! The rushing stat though remember about 40 were on a scramble in prevent defense but he had to make up some serisou yards with all the sacks for loss he was given courtesy of his back side blocking! I feel for him because on a team like New Orleans, MN, New England with a line to protect him he can pick an D appart! Hell he can with the crap he has blocking now!

Nevermind, congrats to the NFC player of the week and I am looking forward to Tampa Bay getting their first win this week.

Brett being named Offensive player of the week? Really? Nobody, and I mean NOBODY, was more offensive than the packers entire O-line. If Brett was behind that line he would have thrown 5 picks rather than take the sacks. Oh, wait, the award probably isn't really for what it implies. Never mind.

Obama is in Madison today. They were looking for additional security and the Packers line volunteered to help. They said thanks, but No thanks. We want him protected, not dead.

AMEN Brother! I was hoping the Teddy & Mikie duo would have done a little bar-hopp'n on the way back from the dome a few weeks ago. I'm sure they could have found 5 slightly over sized men they could've signed for less than a $100K TOTAL to protect Rodgers....assuming of course they actually made it back to GB ALIVE.

As for this thread itself....Offensive/Defensive/Special Teams "Player of the Week" is the most ~ how's that go Rainydaze? ~ "RI-dONK-u-LUS" award in any TEAM event.

I don't live in WI. I'd post a pic of the GB cheerleaders, but I don't think it would be appropriate.
