back from first trip to pool 4

Got back last night from our first ever trip to 4 and before I even talk about the fishing I just want to comment on how impressed I was with the atmosphere and hospitality we were met with. I have been other places where your questions are met with a sentence or two answer from hosts and fisherman will sometimes be as tight lipped as a walleye during a cold front. NOT HERE; from the store, to the fish house, to the landing, to the water, the detailed info was amazing, and you got the feeling that everyone there genuinly wanted you to catch fish! Now to the fishing, as newbies we arrived to a tough bite and a tough wind which made our normal vertical strategy tough, slowly got acclimated to pulling 3 ways, and dragging jigs and things steadily improved, started with 3 average keeper sauger on sun, 4 nice keeper eyes on mon, and 5 good keepers on tues with a 6 1/2 pd eye, the bite was picking up but I would also like to think we improved our presentations a little as well. Nice to finally meet you Dean, Brian, and everyone else we talked to, hope to be a more frequent visitor in the future

6.5 pounder for the first trip?

Now if you would have been putting some stink bait on that ringworm it would have been a 10 pounder!

Good to meet your group in person too Chippee.
