I've been fishing an area with perch and good size walleyes. The question is what should I present to the perch to catch more of the jumbo's. I have been getting incidental perch on jig/minnow combo that the walleye have been hitting and these have been very nice size. When I use crawlers I start geeting the tap tap and little guys. Any ideas on the bigger jumbos and what I can do to trigger them? I know they are there....
I have used two or three joints off the end of a powerbait that looks like a common night crawler. It is tough and lasts much longer than worms. In that configuration I think it looks something like freshwater shrimp to the perch. They LIKE it.
