Is it too late?

#833283 - 11/09/09 02:43 PM

I was thinking of fishing Wabasha or Trempleu this week. Is it too late for Smallies this fall? If not are they in the same areas as summer and early fall?

It is never really too late but you need to find them and slow down your presentation and use live bait. Doing this you may pick up just about anything cats, walleye, muskie, pike. They are bulking up for the winter.

I dont think it's too late yet, we're catching them with walleye presentations mostly along wing dams. Throwing hair jigs, or live bait rigging has put more smallies in the boat than 'eyes in wabasha, nothing real big though. The south end of the lake is holding some along the rip rap too. Hope that helps

Never to late if the water temp is over 40 degrees. Look for deep timber in mild current for the LM and current breaks and wing dams for SM. They will still chase but flippin wood and tubes for the smallies always work.
