Wash you hands

#834545 - 11/14/09 09:24 AM

Those of us who fish for the smooth skinned kind know that our fish have incredible senses. Their ability to smell, taste and feel vibrations is almost beyond our comprehension.

Yet too often we are guilty of not washing our hands to rid if of things that are offensive to our favorite fish. The list is long, sun screen, insect repellent, gasoline, motor oil and a host of other contaminates.

The solution I find works best is to wash your hands in the sand or mud of the water you are fishing. That is the smell the fish are used to and will not pay any attention to. That lets them focus on the important things in life, meaning your bait.

I for one most gerneraly follow that rule ,I believe with only exception is when I use plastics as they carry thier own scent of some sort which I think covers others.

When handling things such as fuel, repelants and such, I always wash afterwords before fishing or eating.

I typically eat before i fish, thus everything i put in my mouth does not taste like a 10 lb raw walleye. LOL

I wash my hands in the sand all the time when fishing. It works great for oily products, like sunblock, and gets rid of all the scent and product.

If I am out fishing, I might be streaming it live. Next outing, Sunday the 21st in the afternoon.

Works great on pots and pans too, personally I don't touch walleye.
