Kickapoo Valley Reserve

#834609 - 11/14/09 11:58 PM

MANY family farms were displaced to make a huge lake to be a flood control device on the Kickapoo River (130 acre lake) . After a lot of research all of the family farms were bought out by the government voluntary and involuntarily. Then there were more studies done and a huge flood control area was made near LaFarge , Wisconsin.

What ever happened to the families that got kicked off their own land?

families were displaced.
There is some serious bitterness in the area to this day still.

Len,

How long ago did this happen? From recent years, it looks as though they need a better plan. If memory serves me right, here has been a bunch of flooding in the Westby, Viroqua, Avalanch, Richland Center, ect, area.
