My friend Gary and I hopped in his boat and ran up to the Ford Dam today. Man it was nice out! It was a great numbers day, about a dozen Walleyes up to 20 inches and a couple of bonus Northerns as well. They didn't want plastics. A fathead minnow on a 1/8th ounce jig was the ticket. Swinging it with the current didn't work as well as a slow drag back to the boat, against the current. Fun times!
Nice report. How's the water clarity right now? My dad and I were out last week muskie fishing and it was the dirtiest I've ever seen it this time of year. Made for tough conditions. Hopefully it will clear up a bit before the season is over.
It's still dirty looking. Not as bad as Spring time but definitely cloudy. We did find a few weedbeds here and there and Gary caught a couple of northerns near them. No Muskies though
It was really moving below the dam. We moved over to the lock side of the river to get out of it. Otherwise it was tough trying to hold anchor as well as keep a jig anywhere near the bottom.
