I wanted to check the tilt fluid on my T-8 but my owners manual doesn't have any information on it. I am assuming that the small screw on top with the allen wrench head is the correct screw to remove, but I wanted to get confirmation on it before removing it. I've pulled screws out of other things and was surprised by springs, clips, and various other items that tend to fly off never to be seen again. Don't need that happening.
Thanks.

Not sure, but that might be the screw to release the ram so you can lower or raise with out power..?

That one is on the side under the tilt motor. They have that one in the manual.
Thanks Jon. The diagram helps.

Thanks, I have that motor but never really looked. I'm still trying to find the spot to add on the F150 yammie.

Mendotaeye,
Did you add fluid? If so did you bleed the air out? The reason I ask is I had an issue with raising the motor (T8) and added fluid, but never bled out any air..not sure how to or if you need to?
Thanks, Turk

I haven't gotten around to it yet. I was going to take care of it when I put the boat away for the winter. Haven't done that yet as winter has been a little slow to arrive. I'm hoping I won't need to bleed any air out as I have no idea how to do that. I'm sure I can find the "how to" around here somewhere if I need to do it.

When you open that screw, you may hear a litle air hiss. That is air leaving the cylendar. Using an eye dropper, fill the cylendar and replace the screw. Then run the T&T full up and full down 5 times. Open screw and release any air that may be bleeding up. Re-fill to top and repeat. Do the fill/check 3-4 times or until you don't have any air release when you open the screw.

Jon,
Thanks! Say there is an allen nut screw as Mendotaeye mentioned and a slot screw(for standard screwdriver). The allen nut screw is above the slot screw both access the fluid reservior. Which do I add fluid to and which is the bleed screw?

I don't recall seeing an allen screw on mine. So, I'm going to say its the slot screw.
