Made it out several time in the past few weeks and the steelhead fishing has been good to excellent. With the warmer temps fish are still aggressive in the river and many fish have been hitting fly's.

We've also been doing a lot of float fishing with spawn, jigs tubes etc.. and taken many fish that way. A decent amount of fish have pushed way up the river 10+ miles and the great thing is we have not seen another sole up there which has been a lot of fun!
Chrome hen
This bite should last about another 3 weeks depending on flows and cold temps who knows maybe until late December.... It's nice because it gives us more options if the brown trout bite is tough. The brown trout fishing in the harbor has been really hit and miss and there's a decent amount of brown up in the river.

Taking my son up deer hunting tomorrow for the first time for out opener should be a great weekend!!!!

Beautiful fish. Must be a blast on spinning tackle. Hope there are a few left in the lake as these persistant warm conditions finds some of us still trolling.
From the sounds of it that bite is still solid almost like it was 5-9 years ago when we had several "elnino" type of fall/ winters and the salmon were around until late Dec. I released all my fish that were up in the river except 2 smaller hens.
It is truely a blast on 9-13 foot medium light St. Croix rods tons of fun. Float fishing is where I cut my teeth 15+ years ago guiding. Never gets old catching chromers up on the river or I should say seeing clients catch these fish. Gotta see abut getting James over for a show up in the river.
