Does anyone know of any clam beds on pool #11 or other good areas to fish in April on Pool #11 I have relatives coming to town in early-mid april and they love to catch walleye, we will be on the bottom side of the dam. Info would be greatly appreciated.

The easiest way to find the clam beds is to take note of were the diver ducks are holding in the late fall and after ice out . They will be on the clam beds. Not all clam beds are good fish holding beds . If you hit enough of them you will find the eyes on some . In that time frame look for where the channel runs into the bluff bases. The eyes in that area prefer these areas to spawn. In mid april they should still be holding a few male walleyes.

Jig Fan is right. You also might want to find a slough or back water right off the main channel. Preferably a dredged slough or sand pit. After they spawn they will follow the schools of shad around in these areas until they recoup. Then when the water warms up they will filter out into the river and set-up on wingdams, clambeds, and hardbottom current breaks.

I'm not familiar with the Dubuque pool so I can't help you, but according to your bio you shouldn't need our help.
