Got out Saturday afternoon with I Try Hard, Cal & friends for about 5 hours. Was fishing by 2:30ish. Lots of fish marked, but couldn't entice any bites. Decided to take a short break and BS a bit. About then Cal showed up and it was pretty consistent from then until I left at 7:00PM ish. Had one tanker gill in the 9.75" range. Lots of 6-8 crappies with the occasional 9+". We were using glow red diamond, tiger gill pills and mixture of other baits. Red spikes along with white plastics seemed to both catch fish. In the higher light period, I'd say the platics outfished the spikes. After dark, if you hit your jig with some light, it was almost gauranteed you'd catch a crappie.
This will be my last outing until after vacation. Hope this snow doesn't hurt the oxygen levels in these lakes.

Good to fish with you guys....Kooty remember when I asked if your auger shaked when drilling???? Well my 224 drill had lost a weld after 7 years of drilling. That drill is so out of pitch it won't even start to drill a hole... 
With the help of a few fellow IDOers, I was able to find a new 224 blade at H&H sports in Maple lake...  Looks like I will be back at it shortly....

That monster you drill with is a machine, Solo head + 224 auger = HOLY S_IT. If you want to try and get it welded, bring it over. I'll give to Steve to try and fix.

Cal had Elli along. She's a trooper for two years old!!! She had to take a pre-game warm nap in the truck, then she was scooping holes like a champ.

Steve and I need to talk about aluminum welding for my snowmobile trailer...I need that done before I head up to fish with Granrud....

I'll see if I can't swing over there to fix his wireless issue this week and I'll ask him about fixing it. Ma is in Dallas all week, so my time is gonna be monopolized by the monsters.
