This early April trip to the Rainy River was one of my favorite trips of the year so far. The numbers of BIG fish present were... incredible. If you've never made this trip before I would suggest putting it high on your list of "must do" destinations.

I've not been there in the fall in a long, long time. I would think this year the spring bite on the Rainy could be a little dicey with the heavy snow fall totals that fell in northern minnesota earlier in the winter. Once the melt starts to run I would think things will get ugly in a hurry.
