Good show guys.
The best place in the world to ice fish in March.
Some days you have to put your rod down to eat a sandwich because the fish wont give you a break. What a problem to have.
Don't you just love when you get the pickups driving 10 feet away from your fish house?

I love LOTW that time of year... but that truck wasn't even one of the close ones.
I guess a guy just needs to consider everyone a "close" friend, smile and wave. Thankfully the fish don't seem to mind and as long as they go by at a slow speed... no harm, no foul.

Your a better man than me.
Although I've never done anything harsher than grumble under my breath and give em the stink eye...

I'm not sure I am a better man. Well call it "searching for the silver lining" and leave it at that. For the life of me I can't understand why someone would drive that close to a portable on a million+ acre lake.

Cuz it's camoflauged and he didn't see it....
Another great episode. I do have to ask, Scott drills, you catch fish??? Seems like a great arrangement.

If only it was true it would be a match made in heaven. Trust me, I get more than my share of time with the auger.

Great show. I fished off the barrier islands several winters ago but pretty much experienced a mid-winter average bite. We caught a few. James, I'm wondering how you think this winter compares to last (or whenever this episode was filmed) in terms of harshness, ice conditions and timing of the pre-spawn stackup around the island. We are planning a trip up there sometime in the next 6 or 8 weeks. I'd love to be there when the big females were staging.

Last year the winter was LONG and cold, particularly late in the winter. That made for some serious thick ice and delayed the fish movements up into the river. It is very difficult to speculate what will happen this year but from mid-March until the ice sheet can no longer be accessed safely is a great time to be outside the gaps fishing 'eyes.
