Chris

That crappie you put your hand on at the end of the video is huge. Did you get a measurement on that one? When's the best time to come fish or these crappies? I'd love to come and catch one crappie that big! Great show guys.

Lol!! I start to target Slabs the end of February until the first part of April weather permitting. Until then we are just hammering giant walleyes and Pike . If I recall correctly 27 walleyes over 28 inches between January and February last year. Not sure what the measurements of that particular slab was, but I believe the biggest for the the show was 16 inches iced by James. My biggest for the year was 16.5 inches, and 2lbs 9oz. There are 3 periods in which I focus on Giant slabs. Late ice, May, and September. All three of these timeframes have the potential for lights out Superdonk hunting. Sometimes it is tough to decide what I like fishing for the most up here. I love big crappies, but these first 2 months working big walleyes on the hardwater is pretty tough to top also. I still have a few guide trips left during the open water season in which I study hard noting key locations the big eyes are holing up for first ice. Thus far it looks as though January and February are going to be action packed as I'm working large schools of big fish right now. I've got 2 permanent rentals on big eye spots, and good dates available, and then of course guide with portables also. If your looking to chase some of the biggest of all species best get on the horn boys!!

Thanks Chris. I don't think I've ever seen a crappie that big before. I catch a bunch of them on minnetonka through the ice but most are 10" - 11" or so. I'll be recording the show on sunday!

Tyler and Andy... Chris has these big fish dialed in and I'm counting the days until March when I can get back up there and have another go at them with him. I think I said it in this show "I'm ruined" for fishing crappies anywhere else. How do you go back to 11" crappies after this?!
