This is the perfect video camera for recording footage from a MarCum 825c underwater camera as it has the digital conversion function that is no longer available on consumer grade video cameras. If you've looked for a video camera that has this ability... you know how hard it is to find a model with this feature.

This video camera records to mini-dv tape so you will not loose any video quality coming from your MarCum 825c. Beware of other units that record to DVD or internal hard drive as they compress the incoming video signal and you're left with a recording that looks horrible.

This camera has the exact same functionality as the ZR30 MC but it does NOT come in the original packaging, with the extra battery, etc. It also needs to have the internal backup battery replaced. The internal backup battery is a small watch battery that provides power so the camera can "remember" time and date stamp and customized camera settings when you remove the main battery. I never needed the time / date function and customized setting were not needed for the recording I did so I never bothered with replacing it.
