Does anyone have plans for a DIY fluid bed for painting jigs with powder paint? Thanks in advance.

Re: DIY Fluid Bed

Just a note to those that have gotten the plans, I used a shop vac prefilter material for the base of the powdefr cup, Home Depot is where I found it then glues it to the bottom and trmmed after it dried.

I also used a 3"x2" reducer bushing to make some thinner and taller cups for doing long thin items.

Turn the air on slow or else ,powder coat is light and fluffy , it does not take alot of air, I found that a fish tank bubbler works the best.

Also buy a cheap toaster over for curing your stuff.

When you first turn the air on hold a clear plastic bag tight to the top of the cup in case you over do the air the first time you turn it on and get it set, you may not actually see the powder perculate but it will fluff up which works fine.

Re: DIY Fluid Bed

Just a FYI, if you want to do a long thin item get a 3"x2" reducer bushing and make the fluid bed tube with 2" tube, you will need less powder coat
