My buddy got out to chase after my passion of redhorse and he pretty much broke a barrier I have not. This River Redhorse is 10 pounds 1 oz. A fish like this is just amazing and I wanted to share it with all of you. The fish does not look all that big unless you know Mike. He is a big guy and this fish make him look like he is my size. The fish did not make it so he/she was kept and I am going to have a reproduction of it done because my buddy is moving to Asia for 3 years and leaves in a couple weeks.

Way to go Cast and Blast!
I think I figured out your display name. Hook a 10 pounder and blast off to Asia.
Just remember...we are interested in the fishing over there too...and I think they have net access...so don't be a stranger!
Good luck in your travels and be safe.

The 4 - 5 lb 'horse I used to catch as a kid fought like champs. A 10 lb specimen must have been quite the deal. Congrats!

That's awesome. Too bad she didn't make it, but at least she was caught for all of us to see before she went to the great stream in the sky.

Thanks for the nice comments from all of you. It truly was a trophy and is currently at the taxidermist. I know some of you might think this is crazy but some of us are hardcore roughfishers and have high regards for such a fish.
I have done more roughfishing this year than all of my combined fishing career put together. There are a couple of things I like about it. First of all, I usually have the fish all to myself. I have very little (usually none) competition from other anglers. This allows for trophy potential as long as some of those roughfish haters don't just pitch them up on shore to die.
And secondly, Roughfishing has opened up a whole new field of fishing to me. I have learned a lot about fish behavior of these different species. Some of these roughfish are very challenging to catch.
BrianK,
I would be delighted to share my fishing expeditions in SE Asia with you all. I am leaving in about a month from now. Maybe you should make a whole new species folder and label it "International Fishes" or something like that. What do you think?

Hey Castandblast, never let someone tell you what should or should not make you proud. that is a trophy fish regardless, and if it was not going to make it (even if it was) it is your fish and you can do with it what you please.
Congrats again on the monster. Rock on, my friend!
